Policies

We are planning to have two semesters during the 2023-2024 school year:

  • Fall Semester: September 17 - December 10
  • Winter-Spring Semester: January 21 - May 5

Registration and Payment Procedure

The registration takes place online via our enrollment page.

Upon registration, the family will receive a confirmation email with an invoice and directions on how to pay. Balances can be paid by mailing a check or bringing a check/cash payment to school.

There is a $25 returned check charge for any checks returned to the Center for insufficient funds.

Your first lesson is a trial lesson this semester. If you decide to drop, there would be no charges. If yo you decide to continue taking classes, the Russian Center must receive your payment in full amount according to your invoice (including the first lesson) by the second lesson of the current semester.

Enrollment is complete only after we receive your payment.

Tuition and Fees

Winter-Spring 2023 Rate
Lesson for kids $20
Lesson for adults $25
Material fee for each subject (per semester) $25
Annual registration $30
Damage deposit for kids (per family, refundable at the end of the year) $50

Missed or Canceled Classes

No refund is offered for missed lessons as Center costs do not decrease when a student misses school. Moreover, irregular attendance affects other families taking the same class because it has a negative affect on the education process.

If the Center has to cancel school during the year for any reason, the make-up date will be offered. In-person learning will be switched to remote learning if CDPHE (Colorado Department of Public Health and Education) will recommend so.

If the Center cannot offer a make-up day, families will not be charged for lessons canceled by the Center. If the payment by the family has been made, a credit will be issued to the family on a subsequent invoice, which the family can choose to apply to the next semester, get a refund for, or donate the value of the credit to the Center as a charitable contribution.

Photo and Video Recording

Unless notified in writing of an objection by a parent, legal guardian, or student of age 18+, photographs and video footage of students and/or names may be posted in Russian Center-produced materials including but not limited to printed publications, television productions, social media and websites.

Private Lessons Policy

Every family situation is unique, and the Center is committed to accommodating a wide range of educational needs. When a student cannot attend regular lessons, the Center will offer small-group and even individual classes depending on teacher’s availability and on an agreement to cover Center expenses associated with these custom arrangements.

Footnotes

The Russian Center is a Colorado nonprofit. It is an organization run by parent volunteers and therefore there is no administrative expenses. Tuition is the primary source to cover teacher’s salaries, rental expenses, and other teaching-related costs. Your prompt payment is very much appreciated.

This policy may be adjusted to better reflect changing Center realities. Feedback regarding this policy and related improvement ideas is welcome.
