In 2006 some enthusiastic parents created a non-profit school teaching Russian language as well as math, music, art, and science in Russian for their kids. From only a handful of families our community has grown to many families of various backgrounds.

Russian Center article-August 22, 2011

As the new school year gets underway and the fall season quickly approaches, Labor Day isn’t the only upcoming event to get excited about.
The Russian Center for the Arts and Humanities, a Colorado non-profit with an exciting curriculum of everything Russian, will be hosting its annual end of the summer picnic on August 28th.
The event, which will include Russian food and drink, fun games, and a chance to meet the instructors, will mark the end of another successful year for the organization and kick off a new semester of Russian learning.
The upcoming picnic is just one of many enjoyable perks that come with being involved with the Russian Center for the Arts and Humanities. On a larger scale, RCFAH provides excellent opportunities for children to learn the Russian language along with the diverse and unique culture. It also offers classes in visual arts, math, music, and theater with a Russian twist.
Unlike a traditional learning of visual arts, the visual arts course at the Russian center simultaneously teaches the students about the history of art starting from ancient cave painting to classical and modern art and lets them create their own “masterpieces”. At the same time, the class helps the kids enhance their Russian vocabulary as they learn many new words from the world of art.
The theater class is also a fresh take on a children’s drama class. The students’ Russian vocabulary is enhanced through both acting and learning the history of theater. The class provides a large variety of theatrical genres including Vaudeville, Russian folk and song, and fantasy. Most importantly, between learning to act naturally and memorize lines, the students learn the concept of teamwork as they find out how hard (but also rewarding) it is to create a cohesive theatrical show.
In the music class, an experienced teacher combines the learning to play various instruments with a comprehensive history of music. The class provides even the youngest of students a chance learn to play whatever instrument they please at their own pace. Likewise, the students will be able to add musical instruments, notes, music genres, and famous composers to their expanding Russian vocabulary.
For anybody interested in learning the Russian language, the Russian Center for the Arts and Humanities provides a variety of Russian languages courses for every level. Unlike the specific subject classes which are for kids, these language classes are available for everyone interested in the Russian language. It is perfect for adults, families with Russian American kids who want to get in touch with their heritage, or for people who already know Russian, but wish to improve or polish their language abilities.
